Warner Bros. to Resurrect the Matrix Franchise

We have see so many reboots. Spider-man, Fantastic 4, Godzilla and now another reboot is coming our way. The Matrix  franchise will its own reboot. Even tho there are some good reboots but there's also bad reboots.

During his press tour for John Wick 2, original Matrix star Keanu Reeves said he would be open to returning to another instalment provided the Wachowskis wrote and directed. "“They would have to write it and direct it", Reeves told the AV Club, "and then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that’d be weird, but why not?”

However, THR suggests that Warner is seeking to explore The Matrix universe like Disney did with its Star Wars universe, which does not secure the roles of any of The Matrix's original characters.Original producer Joel Silver is reportedly unlikely to play a role. Silver sold the rights to dozens of his films, including the Matrix, Lethal Weapon, and Sherlock Holmes franchises, to Warner Bros. for a reported $30 million back in 2012. When that fact is combined with his reported "strained relationship" with the Wachowskis, it seems very likely that Silver will sit this one out. The siblings hold much more meaning for fans than the producer. Silver's reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Matrix starred Keanu Reeves as Neo, “The One”, who discovers that humankind is being used as batteries for a race of machines that have overrun the planet. The world people perceive is nothing but a computer simulation, and by exploiting the limitless potential of the system, Neo must overthrow the robotic overlords. Released in 1999, the original movie also starred Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss and Hugo Weaving.

Jordan has made a name for himself in Hollywood over the past decade starring in a number of critically acclaimed films such as Fruitvale Station and the 2015 Rocky spinoff Creed, both of which were directed by Ryan Coogler. The duo will join forces once again on next year’s Black Panther solo movie which is scheduled to be released on February 16, 2018.
